Carnival Cruise Line

Carnival Cruise Line ships are known as the Fun Ships.  People always say they heard Carnival is for the younger crowd and the party people.  Let’s face it….you don’t have to be young to party!  This has been evident on the last few Carnival cruises we have been on.

We have sailed on Carnival a lot, on the older ships.  Mainly because they were always the cheapest option for a family.  This isn’t necessarily true anymore, especially of the new ships.  Carnival’s ships are clean and nicely decorated

The cabins are a nice size and usually have a decent set up.  Just be careful if you are going for the cheapest cabin.  They have a cabin that sleeps 2 that is an upper and lower bed (a bunk bed).  If you are flexible, this set up could work.  If you have trouble with your joints, you need the 2 lower beds.  We usually need more hangers, but storage is ample and the beds are comfortable.

We have always enjoyed the food on Carnival.  We can’t remember having a bad meal on any of our Carnival cruises.  We would have to rate it as some of the best, of the lines we have sailed.  Their chilled soups are like having dessert as an appetizer.  Each Carnival cruise, we have to go to the Promenade Deck to have a slice of the carrot cake.  You have to pay for it, but it is worth the price.

The cruise staff is always friendly and helpful even though it seems as Carnival, like all cruise lines, is either cutting down on the amount of help or giving them more work to do.  The entertainment staff keeps passengers busy with Trivia, Bingo and Pool Games, etc.

The entertainment on Carnival is always worth seeing.  Whether it is a production show or the comedians in the comedy club.  One of our biggest complaints is that we tend to see the same shows.  It doesn’t matter if it has been a couple of years or a different ship, we tend to run into the same shows.  We have learned that the production shows run for 5 years which explains a lot.  Our other complaint is that the comedy club is a freezer.  Be sure to take a jacket if you tend to get cold.

To sum it up, whether you are looking to relax or party, as long as you are not looking for luxury Carnival is always a good choice.
